Town Of Nantucket Leaves Us No Option But To Operate On TURO For the 2024 Season

While the town may think they shut us down, we are not backing down! The Select Board of the town of Nantucket shut our small rental car business down in September of 2023 because we did not possess the required rental vehicle medallions required by the town's bylaw. The town of Nantucket has not issued a rental car medallion to any individual or business in nearly 30 years, essentially closing the market to new entrants and creating an oligarchy here on island.

With Hertz controlling over 44% of the medallions, 100 or more of which they do not even use, we believe the town's bylaw is not only Un-American but also Anti-Small Business. We believe that while the local politicans here may not value capitalism and small business, the people who live here and the tourists who support our island understand the importance of these principles.

We are pursuing all legal options in attempt to right this injustice and will be renting via Turo until this is resolved and we are provided a legal pathway to operate.
